Home Who we are What we do The workshop
So, you've bought the second edition...

I hope you're enjoying it.

Those of you who have been following along at home already know that a wonderful new fully-CSS'd and impeccably-accessible version of my site was supposed to launch about the same time that the second edition shipped in August of 2005.

Those of you who know me personally also know that I'm inherently slow-moving. Very slow-moving.

Despite reasonably good intentions, the updated site is still languishing unfinished--not unlike the cinematic Xanadu--on a development server. What can I say? Life has been intervening with surprises more than usual this past year.

It is 93% finished, though, and with any luck, though, it will poke its head out of the ground sometime in 2007 2008.

In the meantime, please feel free to write me with questions. (If you need a reply, though, keep in mind that I'm...slow.)

Thanks,

Steve Krug
Author, and painfully slow Web publisher

Looking for the old user testing chapters?

To keep the second edition short, I compressed the original three chapters on user testing into one new chapter. But just in case anyone needed the bits I left out, I said I'd post the original chapters from the first edition online, and here they are:

As it turned out, I ended up squeezing almost everything into the second edition after all, so there are really only a few pages that aren't in the new version:

  • Chapter 9 What do you test, and when do you test it?” chart (pg. 152)
  • Chapter 10 What to do if you're the facilitator (pg. 155-157) and What to do if you're observing (pg. 170-171)
  • Chapter 11 Can this marriage be saved? (pg. 176-177)

Please note that these chapters are for personal use only, and not to be distributed, reprinted, or posted online. Thanks.
